Slug (abbreviations: ps2pf, or lb.s2/ft): is a unit of mass in the weight-based system of measures, especially within the British Imperial measurement system and in the United States customary measures system. Systems of measure either define mass and derive weights or define a base weight and derive a mass unit. It is the mass that is accelerated by 1 ft/s2 when a force of one pound (lbf) is applied on it.
Short Ton (abbreviations: shton, or ton U.S.): is a non-SI metric unit of mass. Although, it is used principally as a unit of mass, it has acquired a number of meanings and uses over long years. It is equivalent to 907.2 kilograms (Kg), or approximately 2000 pounds (lb), or 0.9072 metric tons, or 0.892913 long tons (imperial).
How to Convert Slugs to Short Tons
Example: How many Short tons are equivalent to 28.3 slugs?
As;
1 slugs = 0.0161 Short tons
28.3 slugs = Y Short tons
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 28.3 times 0.0161 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 28.3 * 0.0161 / 1 = 0.45563 Short tons
Answer is: 0.45563 Short tons are equivalent to 28.3 slugs.
