**Definitions:**

**Slug** (abbreviations: **ps2pf, or lb.s2/ft**): is a unit of mass in the weight-based system of measures, especially within the British Imperial measurement system and in the United States customary measures system. Systems of measure either define mass and derive weights or define a base weight and derive a mass unit. It is the mass that is accelerated by 1 ft/s2 when a force of one pound (lbf) is applied on it.

**Short Ton** (abbreviations: **shton, or ton U.S.**): is a non-SI metric unit of mass. Although, it is used principally as a unit of mass, it has acquired a number of meanings and uses over long years. It is equivalent to 907.2 kilograms (Kg), or approximately 2000 pounds (lb), or 0.9072 metric tons, or 0.892913 long tons (imperial).
