Slug (abbreviations: ps2pf, or lb.s2/ft): is a unit of mass in the weight-based system of measures, especially within the British Imperial measurement system and in the United States customary measures system. Systems of measure either define mass and derive weights or define a base weight and derive a mass unit. It is the mass that is accelerated by 1 ft/s2 when a force of one pound (lbf) is applied on it.
Atomic Mass Unit (abbreviations: amu, or u): also known as dalton (symbol: Da), is a standard unit of mass that used on an atomic or molecular scale (atomic mass). One unified atomic mass unit is about the mass of one nucleon (either a single proton or neutron) and equivalent to 1 g/mol.
How to Convert Slugs to Atomic Mass Units
Example: How many atomic mass units are equivalent to 73.56 slugs?
As;
1 slugs = 8.789E+27 atomic mass units
73.56 slugs = Y atomic mass units
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 73.56 times 8.789E+27 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 73.56 * 8.789E+27 / 1 = 6.4651884E+29 atomic mass units
Answer is: 6.4651884E+29 atomic mass units are equivalent to 73.56 slugs.
