Newton (abbreviation: N): is the International System of Units (SI) derived unit of force. It is named after Isaac Newton in recognition of his work on classical mechanics, specifically Newton's second law of motion. One newton is the force needed to accelerate one kilogram of mass at the rate of one metre per second squared in direction of the applied force.
Slug (abbreviations: ps2pf, or lb.s2/ft): is a unit of mass in the weight-based system of measures, especially within the British Imperial measurement system and in the United States customary measures system. Systems of measure either define mass and derive weights or define a base weight and derive a mass unit. It is the mass that is accelerated by 1 ft/s2 when a force of one pound (lbf) is applied on it.
How to Convert Newtons to Slugs
Example: How many slugs are equivalent to 35.96 newtons?
As;
1 newtons = 0.0069816459627329 slugs
35.96 newtons = Y slugs
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 35.96 times 0.0069816459627329 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 35.96 * 0.0069816459627329 / 1 = 0.25105998881988 slugs
Answer is: 0.25105998881988 slugs are equivalent to 35.96 newtons.
