Newton (abbreviation: N): is the International System of Units (SI) derived unit of force. It is named after Isaac Newton in recognition of his work on classical mechanics, specifically Newton's second law of motion. One newton is the force needed to accelerate one kilogram of mass at the rate of one metre per second squared in direction of the applied force.
Pound (abbreviations: lb, or lbs, or ps): is a unit of force used in some systems of measurement including English Engineering units and the British Gravitational System. Also, it is a unit of mass used in the imperial, United States customary and other systems of measurement.
How to Convert Newtons to Pounds
Example: How many pounds are equivalent to 25.32 newtons?
As;
1 newtons = 0.224809 pounds
25.32 newtons = Y pounds
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 25.32 times 0.224809 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 25.32 * 0.224809 / 1 = 5.69216388 pounds
Answer is: 5.69216388 pounds are equivalent to 25.32 newtons.
