Long Ton (abbreviations: Lton, or ton imperial): is a non-SI metric unit of mass. Although, it is used principally as a unit of mass, it has acquired a number of meanings and uses over long years. It is equivalent to 1,016 kilograms (Kg), or approximately 2,239.859 pounds (lb), or 1.119929 short tons (US), or 1.016 metric tons.
How to Convert Pounds to Long Tons
Example: How many Long tons are equivalent to 87.36 pounds?
As;
1 pounds = 0.000446 Long tons
87.36 pounds = Y Long tons
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 87.36 times 0.000446 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 87.36 * 0.000446 / 1 = 0.03896256 Long tons
Answer is: 0.03896256 Long tons are equivalent to 87.36 pounds.
