**Definitions:**

**Kilogram** (abbreviations: **kg, or kgm**): is a SI (metric) system unit of mass (IPK, also known as "Le Grand K" or "Big K") and equivalent to 1/1000 of one gram. Where, at the temperature of melting ice, one gram is the absolute weight of a volume equal to the hundredth part of a metre cube of pure water.

**Slug** (abbreviations: **ps2pf, or lb.s2/ft**): is a unit of mass in the weight-based system of measures, especially within the British Imperial measurement system and in the United States customary measures system. Systems of measure either define mass and derive weights or define a base weight and derive a mass unit. It is the mass that is accelerated by 1 ft/s2 when a force of one pound (lbf) is applied on it.

## How to Convert Kilograms to Slugs

*Example: How many slugs are equivalent to 96.56 kilograms?*

As;

1 kilograms = 0.06852 slugs

96.56 kilograms = Y slugs

Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;

Y equals 96.56 times 0.06852 over 1

(i.e.) Y = 96.56 * 0.06852 / 1 = 6.6162912 slugs

Answer is: 6.6162912 slugs are equivalent to 96.56 kilograms.
