Gram (abbreviation: gm): is a SI (metric) system unit of mass. Where, at the temperature of melting ice, it is the absolute weight of a volume equal to the hundredth part of a metre cube of pure water.
Short Ton (abbreviations: shton, or ton U.S.): is a non-SI metric unit of mass. Although, it is used principally as a unit of mass, it has acquired a number of meanings and uses over long years. It is equivalent to 907.2 kilograms (Kg), or approximately 2000 pounds (lb), or 0.9072 metric tons, or 0.892913 long tons (imperial).
How to Convert Grams to Short Tons
Example: How many Short tons are equivalent to 15.95 grams?
As;
1 grams = 1.102E-6 Short tons
15.95 grams = Y Short tons
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 15.95 times 1.102E-6 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 15.95 * 1.102E-6 / 1 = 1.75769E-5 Short tons
Answer is: 1.75769E-5 Short tons are equivalent to 15.95 grams.
