Liter (abbreviations: ltr, or lit, or l, or litre): is an SI accepted metric system unit of volume equal to 1 cubic decimetre (dm3), 1,000 cubic centimetres (cm3) or 1/1,000 cubic metre. A cubic decimetre (or litre) occupies a volume of 10x10x10 centimetres and is thus equal to one-thousandth of a cubic metre.
Imperial Gallon (abbreviations: imp. gal, or imp gal): is a unit of measurement for liquid capacity in the British imperial systems of measurement. Three significantly different sizes are in current use: the imperial gallon defined as 4.54609 litres, which is used in the United Kingdom, Canada, and some Caribbean nations; the US gallon defined as 231 cubic inches (3.785 L), which is used in the US and some Latin American and Caribbean countries; and the least-used US dry gallon defined as 1/8 US bushel (4.405 L).
How to Convert Liters to Imperial Gallons
Example: How many imperial gallons are equivalent to 19.15 liters?
As;
1 liters = 0.22 imperial gallons
19.15 liters = Y imperial gallons
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 19.15 times 0.22 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 19.15 * 0.22 / 1 = 4.213 imperial gallons
Answer is: 4.213 imperial gallons are equivalent to 19.15 liters.
