Pound Per Square Inch (abbreviations: psi, or lb/in2): is a unit of pressure or of stress based on avoirdupois units. It is the pressure resulting from a force of one pound-force applied to an area of one square inch.
Pascal (abbreviations: Pa, or N/m2): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one newton per square meter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.
How to Convert Pounds Per Square Inches to Pascals
Example: How many pascals are equivalent to 11.16 pounds per square inches?
As;
1 pounds per square inches = 6894.76 pascals
11.16 pounds per square inches = Y pascals
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 11.16 times 6894.76 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 11.16 * 6894.76 / 1 = 76945.5216 pascals
Answer is: 76945.5216 pascals are equivalent to 11.16 pounds per square inches.
