**Definitions:**

**Pascal** (abbreviations: **Pa, or N/m2**): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one newton per square meter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.

**Megapascal** (abbreviations: **Mpa, or MN/m2, or N/mm2**): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one meganewton per square meter or one newton per square millimeter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.

## How to Convert Pascals to Megapascals

*Example: How many megapascals are equivalent to 81.16 pascals?*

As;

1 pascals = 1.0E-6 megapascals

81.16 pascals = Y megapascals

Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;

Y equals 81.16 times 1.0E-6 over 1

(i.e.) Y = 81.16 * 1.0E-6 / 1 = 8.116E-5 megapascals

Answer is: 8.116E-5 megapascals are equivalent to 81.16 pascals.
