Kilopascal (abbreviations: kPa, or kN/m2): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one kilonewton per square meter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.
Pound Per Square Inch (abbreviations: psi, or lb/in2): is a unit of pressure or of stress based on avoirdupois units. It is the pressure resulting from a force of one pound-force applied to an area of one square inch.
How to Convert Kilopascals to Pounds Per Square Inches
Example: How many pounds per square inches are equivalent to 34.85 kilopascals?
As;
1 kilopascals = 0.145038 pounds per square inches
34.85 kilopascals = Y pounds per square inches
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 34.85 times 0.145038 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 34.85 * 0.145038 / 1 = 5.0545743 pounds per square inches
Answer is: 5.0545743 pounds per square inches are equivalent to 34.85 kilopascals.
