Bar (abbreviation: bar): is a metric (still not approved by the International System of Units, SI) unit of pressure. It is exactly equal to 100,000 Pa and slightly lower than the current average atmospheric pressure on Earth, at sea level.
Megapascal (abbreviations: Mpa, or MN/m2, or N/mm2): is the SI derived unit of pressure used to quantify internal pressure, stress, Young's modulus and ultimate tensile strength. It is one meganewton per square meter or one newton per square millimeter. It is named after the French polymath Blaise Pascal.
How to Convert Bars to Megapascals
Example: How many megapascals are equivalent to 87.25 Bars?
As;
1 Bars = 0.1 megapascals
87.25 Bars = Y megapascals
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 87.25 times 0.1 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 87.25 * 0.1 / 1 = 8.725 megapascals
Answer is: 8.725 megapascals are equivalent to 87.25 Bars.
