Meter Square (abbreviation: m2): is the SI derived unit of area. It is the area of a square whose sides measure exactly one metre. The square metre is derived from the SI base unit of the metre, which itself is the length of the path travelled by light in absolute vacuum within time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second.
Kilometer Square (abbreviation: km2): is the SI derived unit of area. It is the area of a square whose sides measure exactly one kilometre. The square metre is derived from the SI base unit of the metre, which itself is the length of the path travelled by light in absolute vacuum within time interval of 1/299,792,458 * 1000 of a second.
How to Convert Meters Square to Kilometers Square
Example: How many kilometers square are equivalent to 68.72 meters square?
As;
1 meters square = 1.0E-6 kilometers square
68.72 meters square = Y kilometers square
Assuming Y is the answer, and by criss-cross principle;
Y equals 68.72 times 1.0E-6 over 1
(i.e.) Y = 68.72 * 1.0E-6 / 1 = 6.872E-5 kilometers square
Answer is: 6.872E-5 kilometers square are equivalent to 68.72 meters square.
